Enhance your comfort on hot hikes and sunny climbing ascents with the patented mesh panels on the Mountain Hardwear Ascent Ventigaiter. It features a special roll-back fabric panel that covers a mesh panel for unsurpassed ventilation. The upper fabric contains a waterproof and breathable triple-ply Conduit laminate made from hydrophilic and hydrophobic molecules that draw moisture away from your boots and socks. The remarkable performance aspect of Conduit is that it accelerates the transfer process as you continue to perspire, keeping you drier and more comfortable than other waterproof and breathable laminates. At the bottom of the gaiter is a replaceable instep strap that can easily be replaced in the field without using special tools. Patented roll-back panel reveals an airy mesh venting system beneath the waterproof upper.
  • - I was somewhat worried about the functionality of the mesh when I first used these gaiters. Suprisingly to me they did not snag or collect debris as I thought they might have. All-in-all a super gaiter on par with the OR Rocky Mountain high gaiter. The mesh works great!
  • Great Winter Gaiter - These gaiters had less ice build-up inside during winter hiking. I liked them a lot. I still would like to see a pair of gaiters that had a crampon puncture proof instep so I do not have so many gouges. The cordura is not enough to glance off a crmpon when my feet get to close at times.

  • Easy to use. - I tried these gators out on the muddy spring trails of Northern Minnesota and they held up great. They are easy to put on and have good ventilation.
  • Perfect for all types of snowshoeing - Excellent product. Very easy to put on. Fit comfortably while snug and secure with a variety of footwear I use for snowshoeing including hiking sneakers leather backpacking boots winter boots. Tested them in both deep powder and packed snow the zippered vent comes in very handy when switching from groomed trails to backcountry powder. I've worn cotton pants with cotton socks and XCR lined sneakers in 24 inches of powder everything under the gaiter stays dry and toasty. The only gaiter you'll ever need for all seasons and conditions.

  • Love it! - This is the perfect all season gaiter. I used it hiking in Norway last summer (through rivers over glaciers on muddy trails) and all winter snow showing in Idaho. The vents are awesome (although they stick out a bit when you open them up and velcro the top so it doesn't flap).
